After a day of touring in this vibrant metropolis,a relaxing evening beckons with a drive through Bangkok’s old quarters that delivers sights of an illuminated Grand Palace, the Royal Ground, temples and the lit-up Rachadamnoen Avenue. A lavish Thai dinner and cocktails against the stunning backdrop of the Rattanakosin skyline at “The Deck” riverside restaurant will keep your night pleasurable. Then stroll along the Flower Market to see exotic orchids and sweet smelling flowers. A potential shopping opportunity awaits you at an adjacent local night market along the Memorial Bridge that overlooks the Chao Phraya River.

Morning, pick up from your hotel and 3-hour drive to Kanchanaburi for a journey to the famous bridge on the River Kwai built by Allied prisoners of war during World War II. The tour includes a visit to the war cemetery, and the JEATH Museum as well as a train ride through Kwai Noi gorge, fill up your day with a visit to Prasart Muang Singh, a Khmer temple complex dating back to the Angkorian period where you have a chance to walk around in a peaceful historical ruins before returning to Bangkok late afternoon.

Escape from the chaotic Bangkok – Start with a short train ride to Chacherngsao – a lesser known historical town. First stop at Wat Sothornwararam Worawiharn with its remarkable marbled temple hall then take a boat trip on Bangprakong River to Talaat Baan Mai, a hundred-year old market and Wat Leng Hok Yee - a Chinese shrine with papiermâche sculptures, continue to Talaat Klong Suan, another 100-year old canal side market which impresses visitors with their everyday simple lifestyle, and its old shop houses and stalls selling a variety of items including food, quaint old utensils and ancient tin toys. Return to Bangkok in the afternoon.

An early start will get you to Wat Po in time to experience the monks early morning chanting ritual (chanting starts at 09.00Hrs). After this uplifting and often private experience visit the temple grounds and the famous 45-metre reclining Buddha. Continue to The Grand Palace, Thailand’s most important landmark, where you will be awed by the grandeur and majesty of the building and its throne halls. Then, of course, marvel at the mysterious Emerald Buddha, the most revered Buddha image in Thailand.

Start with a stroll through Chinatown where you visit interesting shops, tea shop, markets and temples to get a first-hand feel for old Bangkok. Continue to The Bangkok Folk Museum, a seventy-year-old Thai house converted into a small but fascinating museum. Then hop on a long tail boat for a ride along the bustling Chao Phraya River and the quiet klongs (canals) of Thonburi where you see how Thai people have lived next to the water for centuries. Last stop is the magnificent Wat Arun or Temple of Dawn.

Drive north of Bangkok towards Nonthaburi on the banks of the Chao Phraya River where you cross the ferryboat to Koh Kret, home to one of Thailand’s oldest Mon settlements. Take a walk around the island to witness the local lifestyle in the countryside, visit Wat Paramai Yikawat houses Mon-style marble stupa and the reclining Buddha. Afterwards visit Ancient Mon pottery village where is the oldest and largest earthenware making sources in the region. Biking around the island can be a good option. Return to Bangkok by car.

Starting in Bangkok we take a boat ride along the canals (klongs) and enjoy the scenery as you pass through farmyards, villages, fields and orchards. See fruits, vegetables, flowers, temples and Thai people going about their daily life. Visit an agricultural cooperative managed by a group of hard working women who make an array of local delicacies and produce simple handicrafts, take a short tuk tuk ride to an old traditional Thai house and see rare orchids. Continue towards Nonthaburi along the Chao Phraya River to Koh Kret, home to one of Thailand's oldest Mon settlements. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before visiting Wat Paramai Yikawat housing the reclining Buddha and Mon style marble Stupa. Afterwards visit Ancient Mon pottery village, the oldest and largest earthenware making sources in the region.

Let us take you on an exhilarating long tail boat ride through the klongs of Bangkok to Nonthaburi in the far north of the city, where the cityscape turns into countryside and the skyscrapers give way to teak houses, noodle shops, fruit orchards and rice fields. Stop the boat to walk through a bustling local market place and discover a riverside temple with an impressive reclining Buddha far from the tourist crowds. We will often stop for a fresh coconut juice and chat with the locals before cruising back into town

Start from the Grand China Princess Hotel, explore the bustling everyday life of Chinatown. Through narrow alleyways and winding pathways best accessed through two-wheel transport, we pass markets, local Buddhist temples, and a vast array of unique “street life”. We cross the Chao Phraya River by ferry and continue the tour in Thonburi to see more of local temples, museums and slower-paced lifestyle of urban Thais on the other riverside. Back to the starting point in China Town after going through the flower market.

Morning pick up from your hotel and drive north to the ancient city of Ayutthaya. Visit three of the most important of the ruined temples in Ayutthaya historical park. Continue to Bang Pa In to see the summer palace built by King Rama IV at a time of growing European influence in Thailand. Meet the Horizon Cruiser (operated by Shangri la Hotels) and enjoy a delicious lunch on board while cruising back to Bangkok. Arrival in Bangkok late afternoon.

Drive west of Bangkok to Kanchanaburi province for a varied day of history and nature. In the morning visit the famous bridge of River Kwai, the Second World War cemetery and the JEATH Museum. If time allows, take a train ride through the Kwai Noi gorge. Deep in the mountainous countryside we take lunch at local restaurant by the river and in the afternoon visit Taweechai Elephant Camp where you can experience bamboo rafting on the peaceful Kwai Yai River and an Elephant ride through the jungle. Return to Bangkok late afternoon.

It is just an hour drive south of Bangkok to Samut Songkhram province. First we stop at an amazing country market along the railway tracks then we visit Tha Kha, one of the many floating markets in the area. We take a fascinating paddleboat journey through the klongs and stop to enjoy a glass of coconut sugar syrup with a friendly local family. We take a boat ride through the maze of canals stopping along the way to visit Buddhist temples before arriving at Rama II Park with its Thai style Pavilion Museum. Market day is subject to lunar cycle calendar, however tour operates on daily basis.
