Came here as a guest for a rehearsal dinner recently and really enjoyed it. We were immediately greeted at the entrance by a hip, friendly hostess, and since we arrived early, decided to sit in the outdoor patio bar area.

Lots of outdoor seating with shady trees and cozy string lighting. You place your order at the bar and receive your drinks there. I love Old Fashioneds and they offered two... one traditional and one with Smokey mezcal which I thoroughly enjoyed, and turned a few others in our party onto.

The private party area is a cute fenced off area right by the bar with several picnic tables. The service was friendly and efficient... drinks were replaced when low and we were never without water. Empty plates never sat around long.

The food was excellent. We started off with a house special hummus (spinach and artichoke?) sprinkled with fresh dill, accompanied by toast points and vegetable fritters. This was delicious and I nearly licked the plate! Next came the arugula salad that had these wonderful crisped garbanzo beans. The main course consisted of tri tip with chimichurri sauce and trout, paired with roasted broccoli and potatoes... WOW!!! I loved every bite of this. The tri tip was prepared perfectly medium rare/rare and bursting with flavor. Dessert was good but didn't blow me away like the starter or main (a horchata cake with peaches).

If I'm ever back in the Austin area I would definitely return!

Great food, great service, great ambiance... a gem!!

We had a November family birthday dinner at Contigo and they delivered. This is such a quintessential Austin-style establishment--casual and cool, mostly outdoors with some shelter and heat if needed, great for date night or families with kids at the same time, creative menus with fresh locally sourced ingredients. We had great drinks, appetizers and entrees. We live nearby and it is a favorite. They also have.a super nice happy hour that is usually available without reservations in their fairly large yard space.

I was thoroughly impressed by the atmosphere at Contigo's on a Thursday evening. I recommend making a reservation or you might have a wait. They have a socially distanced patio that's surrounded by big trees and twinkling lights. We ordered the frozen guava margarita, the el pepino cocktail, the Philly cheesesteak and backyard burger. The cheesesteak was legit and smothered in cheese. We'll definitely be back to try more menu items.

The only reason I took off one star was due to the service. It was quite slow the evening we were there, especially for drink refills. At one point a storm was rolling in and we were concerned the rain was going to unleash at any moment. We had been waiting for our check for quite a while and ended up going inside to the bar to wait for it there once the rain began. When we realized they make you pay by QR code, which is fantastic by the way, it made us wonder why it took so long to bring us the checks. The service still won't deter us from trying contigo out again in the future.

Nice outdoor spot, not too many of these in this area, so even though it was dinner time on Saturday there weren't too many people until we left, which was nice to not have to fight for a spot and wait a long time.
They have a large patio, and an "indoor" section that is open-faced so while you're not necessarily in direct sunlight, the ambient temperature can still be fairly high, even with the fans that they have.
Their food was really good (got the contigo burger) but a fairly limited menu, lots of burgers.
They do have gluten free buns though if you need that.
Drinks are good, as well as the service, and prices are decent as well, so it's overall a solid dinner/drink spot.

A must try in Austin! I recommend the crispy green beans, so good! The white bean dip with duck fat was amazing too, the quail entree was delicious but a bit too spicy for me. Get the bees keepers cocktail so yummy and we'll balanced! Super friendly staff with big patio space which allows dogs, was a great experience!

5/5 on atmosphere. This place has a great vibe. A great dog friendly patio and some good cocktails.

Food however is more like a 3/5. Nothing very impressive. The house sausage was too watery and didn't have much flavor. The fish sandwich was fine but nothing mind blowing. Skip the fried avocado- it has a funky taste to it.

Okay, clearly there's over 800 reviews to tell you that Contigo is worth a try. So let me just touch on something, that I bet most reviews are not highlighting.

The Crispy Green Beans - OH MY, WHAT A GAME CHANGER. You think it wouldn't work, but boy does it work! I almost dismissed a meal because I wanted to order another batch of them.

Warning: Our entire table of six ordered either the Smash burger or the Contigo burger, therefore I cannot speak to the rest of the menu!

The Smash Burger was 8/10 the only improvement could have been a little more smash to achieve the lacy-edge the smash burger is known for.

The Contigo Burger was a 4/10 I found it to be over-seasoned, to the point I could not taste the beef. I also found the bacon to be over cooked and it tasted burned.

Staff was a little rude, telling us we needed to put in the drink order " right now or wait a really long time" because she was busy and would not circle back to our table.

Came by here for Austin Restaurant Week 2019. They have a softshell crab sandwich for the prix-fix menu. It is amazing! The batter on the SScrab is crispy and light. The bun was light and fluffy!

I really wish they will add it to their dinner menu!!

I've never had such a... meaty soft shelled crab before!! I can't wait to come back for this. The burrata and dessert was alright. The softshelled crab is definitely the star of the show.

Also, they have a mean happy hour!! Such a nice venue for the fall and spring. It is still a bit too hot for me to enjoy the outdoors.

Big parking lot for all you drivers :)

      Updated review

I've been to Contigo a few times and absolutely love this place. Not only is the food delicious, but the atmosphere, the outdoor areas, the drinks, and the service are totally on point. Recently, my work had a holiday party here. What a treat! The food was served family style. Large servings of baked chicken, delicious hanger steak, tender, flaky, meaty fish, and sooooo many sides! We were stuffed! The drinks (I had the old fashioned) were strong and well-flavored. The service never left us with an empty glass or empty belly. Great job!! I look forward to the next visit.
